The Solway Aviation Museum was selected by readers of Carlisle Living as one of the finalists in the 2017 awards held at The Garden at Eden venue in Crosby-on-Eden.
This came as a surprise to us as we had no idea we had been nominated, so a big thank you to everyone who voted for us, it certainly raised the profile of the museum, unfortunately we did not win, Tullie House took the award for Best Place to Visit.
We would like to thank all our volunteers, all of whom go more than the extra mile to make our visitors feel welcome. Our visitor book reflects the thoughts of our visitors in their wonderful comments, as does Tripadvisor which rates us as no.2 in Carlisle and no.4 throughout Cumbria.
This nomination has opened new opportunities for the museum to go forward and take on the full time professional attractions, so watch out, we’re coming to get you!!
